My 8K on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
Apple does not allow apps from outside its own shop, so there is nothing to sideload. You choose a player from the App Store and give it your details.
Before you start
- An iPhone, iPad or Apple TV signed in to the App Store
- Your My 8K details, ideally copied on the same device
- A moment to set a player as your default
Install a player from the App Store
Search the App Store for an IPTV player that accepts Xtream or M3U. Several good ones are free with an optional paid unlock. Install it, open it, and skip any account signup it offers, because you do not need one to use your subscription.
Add your subscription to it
Choose to add a playlist, pick the Xtream option, and paste your server address, username and password from your account. On an iPhone you can copy each one from your account page and paste it straight in, which is by far the safest route.
Send it to the big screen
If you want it on the telly rather than in your hand, use AirPlay from the player. On an Apple TV, install the same style of player directly on the box instead and repeat the details there. AirPlay is fine for an hour and a direct install is better for an evening.
Worth knowing
- iPhones dim and sleep during playback if the player does not ask them not to. Look for a keep awake setting in the player options.
- Mobile data works, but a long film on data can be expensive. Check you are on Wi-Fi before settling in.
- If a player will not accept your details, try a different one before messaging us. Apple players vary more than any other kind.
No subscription yet?
It takes about two minutes from paying to having your details on the screen in front of you, and this guide will be waiting when you come back to it.
