Terms of Service

Written to be read rather than skipped. If any of it is unclear, write to us before you order and we will explain it in plain words.

1. Who these terms are between

They are between you and My 8K, and they govern any subscription bought through my8k.it.com. Sending an order through the checkout is how you agree to them. If a clause here does not sit right with you, the sensible thing is to ask us about it rather than order and hope.

2. What a subscription gives you

Access to the service for the length of time you paid for, with as many simultaneous streams as the number of people you said would be watching at once. Each of those is a separate login. Start one more stream than you hold, and the extra one is simply turned away rather than knocking anybody else off.

3. Getting your details

Your line is created by the system rather than by hand, so it is ready about two minutes after the payment clears. The server address, username and password appear on the screen in front of you and go to the email address typed at checkout at the same moment. Please check that address before you pay, because a slip there is the one thing we cannot put right for you afterwards without a message from you.

4. How you may use it

It is meant for you and the people you live with. Please do not sell it on, post your login where strangers can pick it up, or rebroadcast anything you receive through it. A line being used that way is suspended, and we will not refund it.

5. What we can and cannot promise

We want the service up every hour of every day and we put real effort into keeping it that way. What no honest streaming provider can promise is perfection. Individual channels come and go, and some of that sits with the broadcasters rather than with us. A change of that kind is not by itself grounds for a refund, but it is always worth telling us, because often there is something on our side that fixes it.

6. What you need at your end

A device capable of running a player, and an internet connection steady enough to carry video. When the trouble turns out to be the wireless in the back bedroom or the line into the house, that is not a fault in the subscription, though somebody here will still sit with you and help you find it.

7. Paying

Prices are quoted in US dollars, and the gateway converts to your own currency when it takes the payment. You pay once for the period you picked. Nothing renews on its own, no date exists in the future when money leaves your account by surprise, and no card details are held here at any stage.

8. When we would suspend a line

If these terms are broken, if an order looks fraudulent, or if a chargeback is opened against us before anybody has spoken to us about the problem.

9. If these terms change

They may be revised now and then. Whichever version was published on this page at the moment you ordered is the version that governs your order, and later changes do not reach back to it.
